| VIOLIN FAERY GREETINGS Faery greetings to all of you Violin Faery Followers! I am very excited to introduce you to a brand new website made especially for YOU, the dedicated fans of Emilie Autumn. When I first heard Emilie, a few days after the World Trade Center was attacked, I instantly was captivated by her. I began creating a small dedication site for her through my Tori Amos site, Black Winged Roses, and since then have entered Emilie's magickal realm without looking back. When Emilie created the Fan Forum on her site, that's when I decided, it's now time for me to give back everything Emilie's given me. This site is a dedication to Emilie and all that she's brought into this world. By giving us, (the Violin Faery Followers...like the cute name I came up with to call us fans??) a place to escape when everything around us is falling apart. A make-believe kingdom that we used to play in when we were children and now can go to as adults. A place where faeries dwell. A place where dreams can come true. Once upon a time is now... Please be patient as the faerytale begins and come back often for updates. Faery Hugs and Kisses, Elizabeth (Scarlet Faery) |

| Emilie's Biggest Pet Peeve: "Girls who completely deny their own intelligence and magnificence because they think that boys will like them more. In my opinion a guy who is not completely turned on by formidable intelligence is not worth even thinking about. Girls still have a really hard time saying 'I'm strong and I'm smart.'" "I really wasn't that way but as soon as I saw the busy hands of record execs messing with my music, my sense of who I am, and what I look like, I wanted out of it." Quoted during and interview with CollegeBound.net & Go-Girl.com Because Emilie was even more rebellious in the world of pop where money talks and people do anything to get famous she was determined more now than ever to create what she hopes will become her own empire. Her own label, Traitor Records, and her Web site. |

Sorry for such a long delay. I've been having problems with my computer, plus I'm still trying to get organized. Moving sucks! Hopefully, by the beginning of the new year, Silver and I will begin the process of making the fanzine and interviewing several people, including EA herself. Once again, we ask that you submit any questions you'd like to ask EA for the interview. If you read throughout the website, you'll find our rules and regulations on how to submit goodies and whatnot for Paranoid Angle. Just in case we can't get back online before the holidays, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 9/25~ In honor of EA's birthday, I've made a special wallpaper. "O Mistress Mine" wallpaper link Plus a little gift from me to you! If you're interested in hearing the "Haunted Siren", Elizabeth Waters, scroll down and take a gander to the right of the page, above the "Elizabeth's Recommendations" and download to your heart's content. Enjoy! 9/12~ New Scent from WTH and for a limited time only, you can download EA's song, "O Mistress Mine". Here's a little ditty on the new perfume oil: Mistress perfume oil "the frosted bottle with floating rose petals" This heady fragrance is as ever-changing as you are. Half dominatrix, half kitten...who wouldn't submit? Sexy, luscious, and practically edible, Mistress's secret combination of amber, rose, honey, almond and pink lotus slides on like silk and evokes a powerful reaction in all who fall under your command. Mistress relies upon your own personal chemistry to become complete, so no two Mistresses smell alike. Lyrics: O Mistress mine, where are you roaming? O, stay and hear; your true love's coming, That can sing both high and low: Trip no further, pretty sweeting; Journeys end in lovers meeting, Every wise man's son doth know. What is love? 'Tis not hereafter; Present mirth hath present laughter; What's to come is still unsure: In delay there lies not plenty; Then, come kiss me, sweet and twenty, Youth's a stuff will not endure. Notes: These beautiful lyrics are from Twelfth Night, my very favorite Shakepeare play. I set this to music some years ago and have decided to record and release it to you as a gift as it will also be the theme song for the "Mistress" fragrance. Enjoy! --EA 9/9~ Check out the Across The Sky link for news on EA. :) 9/7~ Greetings fellow VFF, Well, I'm back online, but still haven't completed the horrible task of moving. At least I have my computer here at the new place. I was going MAD with boredom...wait a minute...I'm already MAD! *laughs* Anyway, now that my life is sorta getting back into its routine, I'll be working on Paranoid Angel. So, last call...if you want to ask EA anything, submit anything, or whatever, NOW'S YOUR CHANCE! Just remember to include your name, address (just city and state will be fine), a few little sentences about yourself and of course, your email addie. All submissions should be sent to violin_faery@yahoo.com As for some updates, there's two new PA wallpapers to download and the monthly fave pics. More to come! |
| Elizabeth's Recommendations Music Over The Rhine ~ I actually felt ashamed of myself when I found out how long this band has been around and that I just now found out about them. A truly creative thinking band with a musical talent that will make you fall in love with music itself in a whole new way. Thanks Lisa! Rasputina ~ aka Ladies' Cello Society (that's what the lead cellist/singer dubs the three cellists.) This group of lovely ladies performs in Victorian corsets and plays songs of interesting...um...well...I guess you'd just have to trust me on this one. I fell in love with them the first time I heard Melora Creager's (lead and only vocalist) strange and heavy vibrato vocals and weird lyrics along with her and two other cellists (1996 album "Thanks For The Ether" ). You can learn more about Rasputina at their website. Their new album is out! *grins* POE ~ I'm sure everyone out there knows who POE is. So my recommendation may or may not come as a surprise, It's just not her music in general that I'm recommending, but her album, "Haunted". It's an album not to be taken advantage of. Not only did it take many long hours of work (and from what I've read about it, she recorded it just like Emilie did with "Enchant" on "puppy") it speaks of personal memories of POE's father, even including recordings of his speeches. The "haunting" thing about this album is it collaborates with the release of her brother, Mark Z. Danielewski's, book "House of Leaves" (which is also another of my recommendations). POE's album, "Haunted", gives you a look and talks about the "House of Leaves"...which is quite spooky indeed. Try reading the book...I DARE YOU! If you thought Emilie's Enchant Puzzle was hard, this book will make you think twice about that comment. I haven't even finished the book. I've heard you need "Cliff Notes" to decipher some of it. Both the album and book are well worth the money to invest in. The one thing about POE and even Tori Amos is they both have been screwed by the R.I.A.A. and have been trying to regain their musical confidence again. Tori changed from Atlantic Records to Epic. POE is trying to deal with Atlantic still. I guess we'll see what Fate will bring for this amazing singer/songwriter. Tori Amos ~ Okay, I might as well admit that I'm an EWF (Ears With Feet.) As a matter of fact, it was a Tori Amos forum that I found out about Emilie and I am so grateful for it! So what to recommend? Where to start? What album should I tell you to listen to? There's so many! I guess I'll say her latest release, "Tales of a Librarian" It's a collections of songs that basically tell a story of her life. Sure, a lot of songs have been excluded from this collection, but that doesn't mean this isn't a great album. Plus, you get a DVD. Since her album "Scarlet's Walk" came out last year, I've felt a connection with it...and that's why my Tori site will more than likely stay with that theme. I feel like Scarlet. Within Temptation ~ My dear friend, Anton, recommenced this band to me and it only took one song to get me hooked. If you like Lacuna Coil or Evanescence, you'll love Within Temptation. I will say this, if you're religious, be prepared, because Within Temptation is all about Mother Earth and the beauty of paganism, adding some Goth Metal along with Celtic music and that's what they sound like. The lead singer's voice reminds me of Sarah McLachlan and Loreena McKennitt. Have fun checking out their site. Books A Collection of Beauties at the height of their popularity by Whitney Otto (author of How To Make An American Quilt) I read this book months ago and it keeps calling out to me to read it again. I bought it at a flea market brand new, along with a bunch of other books last year. Anyway, this book revolves around a San Francisco Tea House! Need I say more? The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory Sisterly rivalry is the basis of this fresh, wonderfully vivid retelling of the story of Anne Boleyn. Anne, her sister Mary and their brother George are all brought to the king's court at a young age, as players in their uncle's plans to advance the family's fortunes. Mary, the sweet, blond sister, wins King Henry VIII's favor when she is barely 14 and already married to one of his courtiers. Their affair lasts several years, and she gives Henry a daughter and a son. But her dark, clever, scheming sister, Anne, insinuates herself into Henry's graces, styling herself as his adviser and confidant. Soon she displaces Mary as his lover and begins her machinations to rid him of his wife, Katherine of Aragon. This is only the beginning...in the end, Anne's famous, tragic end is offset by Mary's happier fate Movies Personal Velocity: Three Portraits ~ Personal Velocity is actually three short digital films, a trio of superb character portraits: Delia (Kyra Sedgwick, Something to Talk About, Singles), a former bad girl who musters the will to leave her abusive husband; Greta (Parker Posey, Party Girl, Best in Show), a book editor who finds that success in her career leaves her dissatisfied with her unambitious husband; and Paula (Fairuza Balk, The Craft, Gas Food Lodging), a young woman whose narrow escape from a car accident makes her question her life. With small, deft touches, writer-director Rebecca Miller (Angela) reveals a lot of about who these women are and how they live. Christoff's Recommendations Music Hannah Furry ~ (This is Elizabeth speaking on behalf of my fellow partner in crime and creativity. Christoff sent me to Hannah's page and once I was done listening to one song, I was hooked. Think Tori Amos...with gothic lyrics. Well, something like that. Anyway, you'll get his description soon. : ) And any other recommendations as well. Silver's Recommendations Music Placebo ~ Into the Goth scene? Well Placebo is all about the Goth and Glam scene. Check out all their music. I totally recommend listening to "Sleeping With Ghosts" and their latest CD, "Once More With Feeling" a greatest hits collection which also includes a bunch of goodies to feast your eyes upon. Elizabeth and Silver also recommend Lacuna Coil, kidneythieves, and Evanescence. Movies There's a ton of movies that I recommend! First off, there's the Ginger Snaps Trilogy: Ginger Snaps, Ginger Snaps: Unleashed, and Ginger Snaps Back: the beginning. Underworld, Van Helsing, Eternal Sunshine of the Spottless Mind, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Lost In Translation, |
| ROCK FOR RAINN a singer/songwriters challenge Happy 40th Birthday Tori Amos! Some of you know from going to my Tori Amos pages that I've been trying to help RAINN, the Rape Abuse Incest National Network for the past two years now. It gives me great pleasure to inform you that I was selected out of many talented musicians to perform in the competition, held in Pittsburgh, PA, August 15, 2003 at the intimate club called, Club Cafe'. I'm thrilled to announce that I won third place with my song, "Closer To Your Heart", a song about a girl who's in love with a boy who gave her all the wrong signs. You can visit my music site, named after my very first home-recorded album, "Little Pieces of Joy", to read the lyrics of the song. I hope to have the mp3 available for everyone to download, along with other select songs from that album. Please give me some time to get this completed. (thanks to having a 56k modem *laughs*) If you have any questions, or would like to donate to RAINN, email me at violin_faery@yahoo.com I will be busy within the next several weeks with trying to get things done with RAINN and with other important issues going on in my life. I want to thank Emilie, personally, because she's the one true music influence in my life that told me to be myself and gave me the courage to get up there on stage and sing my heart out! Keeping that in mind, I wore Emilie's beautiful "faerie poison horns" for "good luck" for this event and I mentioned her as one of my most recent music influences. *blows kisses and smiles* Thank you, Emilie from the bottom of my heart! Even if you weren't there in person, you were with me in more ways than you can imagine. One day, I hope I'll be able to thank you in person. Keep the music, love, art and joy flowing! As I always say, "Music is my life! Take that away from me, and all you'll have left is a dead soul." I write music, not for fame or fortune, but for fun. And for those out there in the music world who won't ever get it in their heads that that's what music is all about, then they need to find another job! "I'm sorry, was I thinking again?" ~ Emilie Autumn Thank you everyone who has supported me in my musical journey so far...it's not over! Just remember to be yourself, write your music for yourself, and don't ever change because someone tells you to! That's not the way music should EVER be judged! Thank you to the folks who held the ROCK for RAINN! You ROCK! And my personal thank yous go to my family and friends, my grandmother, Romona (Mino), but most of all, to my voice teacher, William Close. May his voice still live on through me and anyone else he touched when he was here! Faery Love to everyone! Elizabeth Waters rape/abuse survivor UNLOCK THE SILENCE!!! Donate to RAINN today!
